Snow White’s enchanted wish
Agency: Walt Disney Imagineering
Creative Direction: Scot Moss
When designing the logotype for the newly updated Snow White ride at Disneyland, it was important to create something that was appropriate for the new, lighter tone of the ride while still respecting the history of the franchise. Rather than starting from scratch, I referenced decades worth of Snow White material, ranging from VHS cases to storybook covers, to find the perfect typographic choice. The incomplete character set required some additional refinement and expanding to create the final logotype, which is now used as the ride’s marquee and official logo.
Additionally, I worked on the layouts for the storybooks that are dotted throughout the ride and the passenger loading queue. Inspired by illuminated manuscripts, these beautifully hand-painted storybooks help establish the tone for the ride while providing important story context to passengers.
Lastly, I created graphics to decorate the construction fence by developing new character assets and combining them with existing concept art.
